One of the most visited place here in Laguna lately is the Isdaan Floating Restaurant. Why? because of its very beautiful and attractive surroundings which are really feasts to your eyes.
My youngest sister Celeste and her daughter Chloe will be going back to Netherlands by tomorrow after an enjoyable vacation here in the Philippines. Of course, we are going to miss them a lot again but hopefully they will be able to come home again soon. So we had a get together dinner not here at Isdaan but in another nearby restaurant (will tell you later why, LOL).
Isdaan Floating Restaurant is like a theme park with its giant buddha statues, famous people, monkeys and gorillas, crocodiles, fishes and of course cartoon characters. We've been here several times already and the kids almost always are excited as we are with the endless photo opp. The sceneries here are real awesome as if you are in another country like Thailand.

This place is owned by the Ongpauco's of the famous Barrio Fiesta group of restaurants. There is another place like this at Gerona, Tarlac. Accordingly, almost the same massive set-up.

But this is not the place if you want good and affordable food. Honestly the food here are not recommendable, no good taste at all; and so expensive. So we are here just for our after dinner coffee and some dessert. I ordered coffee and they served me a Nescafe 3-in-1 single pack sachet and a cup of hot water, I was charged P65.00. I asked the server, why they don't have brewed coffee at least to match the ambience. I was told, to just write down my comments in a piece of paper and drop it at the comment box (oh, she forgot to inform me where the comment box is located, neither do I know where it is, ha!ha!). Anyway, that's it. Do not expect good food here, go somewhere else for a more satisfying eating experience. Just come back here and take photos.
As per experience, during daytime when the place is loaded with customers, they won't let you "in" inside the restaurant unless you already have given your food orders. At late night time when there are already less number of customers, just tell them you will order coffee and some desserts. At the same time, the staff will give you advise to order everything you may need because they will be closing soon.

P65 for a 3-in-1 coffee is definitely not worth it, thanks for giving me a heads up about this place. Too bad that the place is expensive it could've been a good place to visit with family.
ReplyDeleteI've tried the isdaan in Tarlac and the place is just massive though the food is a bit pricey.
ReplyDeleteI'm always on the look out for new places to visit with family.
ReplyDeleteSome place near Manila.
I like treating my siblings when they are on vacation.
This isdaan floating restaurant would be a great visit. I'm thrown off by the expense though, but as it is, I could probably shrug it off if it meant making my family happy like you do. :)
wow, look at those massive statues, this should be a great place to visit with family. I will ask my dad to drive us there when we revisit Manila.
ReplyDeleteThis is what I love about blogs. You get to know new places to go. Thanks for this info! :)
ReplyDeleteI saw the feature of Ang Pinaka da best na kainan sa Laguna kagabi at ang number one ay Isdaan. Ang sarap ng food!
ReplyDeleteNOw that's just disappointing. I've never been to their Tarlac branch, so when I read Laguna, I was instantly smitten with the idea of traveling there soon. But after reading your review, I knew that going there would be out of the question now.
ReplyDeleteNIce to know about this dear! at least i can go somewhere nice when i go back in philippines maiba lng db? im from Laguna din hihi xx
ReplyDeleteOA ang kape. LOL. The place looks good but their prices should be reasonable. 8 pesos lang and Nescafe 3 in 1 sa tindahan. That's why I agree with your suggestion. Eat somewhere else and just come back to take photos. So smart. :)
ReplyDeleteNice place na sana but uhmmm dissapointing service, and pricey food??
ReplyDeleteWhat an expensive coffee! 65 pesos for a 3in1? WOW!
ReplyDeleteI will remember your advice, "go somewhere else for a more satisfying eating experience. Just come back here and take photos." :)
The place is indeed like somewhere abroad and I was even wondering if I'm reading the right post, lol. But yeah that 3-in coffee is not just worth for a P65. I think I would do what you suggested to just go there and take some pictures and to eat somewhere else if ever I would be visiting there. :
ReplyDeleteA theme park with real theme...parang ang gulo. So this is owned by the Ongpauco family? and the food is bad? that's weird because Barrio Fiesta has good food. BTW, Heart Evangelista is an Ongpauco ;)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a really cool place eh. Must visit Laguna real soon for this!
ReplyDeleteI've been and dine in this place for a couple of times, Thanks to Pastor friend, who always pay the bill. Yes,medyo pricey nga dito and the foods are not that good.
ReplyDeletenice place ! can i go there sometimes , with my family.. how to go there sis gigi ? :)
ReplyDeleteThe expensive 3-in-1 coffee ticked me off. But I'd still try that place as its very festive to the eyes and probably, the palate.
ReplyDeletefor me, now matter how nice the place is, i would really turn me off if their service is bad and so as their food...They should do something about it, otherwise they would lose a lot of customers.Yahweh bless
ReplyDeleteThe place is beautiful, sad to know that the food is expensive. even the coffee
ReplyDeleteit's near my place , and from my experienced, i would say the food is great! so many to choose from, good ambiance. whenever we have a celebration, we go to Isdaan and stay there for 5-6hrs, from lunch to meryenda. :) sulit , i can tell yah. :)
