Ivan's First Toy Car

I was hauling through my son's toy chest to clear up some clutter when I came across this toy car.

It is Ivan's first toy car.  The toy was a gift from his dad and it was given to him when he was about 2 months old.  By that time I think this toy car doesn't fit him yet so I just kept it for a while.  After a few more months, he's then able to play with his dad's gift.

I took videos of baby Ivan playing with his toy car when he was just about seven months old.

What I like about this Fisher Price toy, its really suitable for young babies small hands because they don't have sharp edges; the colors are very attractive and it has a soft sound as well that makes playing more exciting.  I just make sure that the toy is well clean before I give it to him because he always tends to bite during that time.

I actually already gave this toy car to my nephew JM but he already overgrew it, he's now 2y old.  I told my sister I am getting back the toy because I would like to keep it as a memento for my son.

What about you? what was your child's first ever toy? Do you also keep them or give them away?

  1. My mom and I were cleaning just last week and we saw some of my first ever toys! One was a rattle and another was a rolling clown. It was so cute. But honestly I can't remember it anymore. Hehe. I'm sorry I can't share any memories about my own kids because I have none yet. :)

  8. My nephew's idea of playing with toy cars is so far banging them on the table and then spinning them round and round. Fun!

  11. We're also on the sentimental side and have kept the very first stuffed toy - a Mickey Mouse fantasia themed plush - we've bought for our kids. Everything else have already been handed down to other nieces and nephews.

  13. It was a teddy bear that my former boss gave and sent from Canada. Too unfortunate that she has passed away a year after that. But I am glad she left us a good memory through Dello, the name of the teddy bear that came with a birth certificate.

  19. Toy car collection is in a different category, mainly because of its myriad of models to choose from. Toy cars have so many designs, so many manufacturers, sold in different sizes and different genres, and these are the reasons why it is hard to collect.
