Where did Bebang came from?

 Zowanderer is having a giveaway contest. The question is: Where did Bebang came from? "Bebang" is the name of her new Labrador retriever puppy, a gift from her BF. This is Bebang, and I guess she was named after a thypoon that visited Philippines years back.  I am not sure if it was a powerful thypoon but I do hope "Bebang" the puppy will be "powerful" when she grow up.
