Celebrating with Cakes

To celebrate my son's monthly milestone I do always buy him a cake.  Amidst heavy expenses on buying milk (since I was not able to breastfed) and diapers, I will set aside some money to buy him a cake monthly.

Cakes for 1st month - 4th month

Cakes for 5th month - 8th month

Cakes for 9th month - 1st Birthday
Maybe because as a young girl, for financial reasons I never experienced any birthday celebration nor having a cake.  Until now, I grew up not celebrating my own birthday.  I just pour my frustrations to my son by giving him something I was not able to enjoy before.

Happy 3rd Birthday!!!

Something is missing??? Right, the cake during his second birthday.  I can't find it for now 'coz it was my sister who took the pictures.  I'll just post later.

And for his upcoming 4th birthday next month - since Ivan has current preference for Thomas Train, I need to look for a birthday cake that might look like this one.

What about you, how do you celebrate birthdays and milestones?

  4. Your baby is soooo adorable! You may not have experienced celebrating your bday with a cake, but because of that your son will have all the cake he'd ever want every month. Things work out in the end. :)

  8. Hello Ms. Gigi! Are you in Manila right now? You might want to have your sons cake customized by Swirls N Sprinkles. They'er based in Antipolo, and I highly recommend them. They've already done 3 batches of creative and unique cakes for me. They can surely make the Thomas the Train-inspired cake. :) Check out their FB page. :)

  14. Very impressive indeed! Yeah...something that I never get to have as a kid. As much as possible I am trying to experience them now or try to have those things I never get to have. Your son is lucky to have such a thoughtful and loving mom as you are.

  19. A celebration is never the same without cakes! Mas ok na nga ngayon kasi ang dami ng bakeshops na nagproproduce ng masarap na cakes. Dati 2 lang pde either Goldilocks or Red Ribbon.

  23. Weee.. you've completed the pics of the cakes for your baby's birthday celeb :) And I guess it's sweet of you to let your baby have this even if you didn't have it when you were younger. That's how parents are.. making their children have happier moments and a better life.,., XD
